Mr. Paul received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma (OU) in 1954. Soon after graduating, he was commissioned as second lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps where he served on active duty for two years, including service in Korea and Japan.

Upon release from active duty in 1956, Mr. Paul entered the OU College of Law where he received his juris doctorate degree.

Despite receiving his law degree, Mr. Paul chose to pursue a career in banking. He successfully led two banks to become substantial financial institutions.

He was a past president of the Oklahoma Bankers Association and former chairman of the Oklahoma Finance Authorities. He remained active in the banking industry until his retirement in 2004.

Upon being summoned, Mr. Paul readily accepted a position on the board of Chickasaw Nation Industries (CNI). He was committed to the success of CNI and made many positive contributions as a board member.

Mr. Paul is an active philanthropist, generously giving to the OU College of Arts and Sciences, OU College of Law and Oklahoma State University.

He co-founded an endowment to fund an annual scholarship awarded to an outstanding, college-bound student of Pauls Valley High School and was a financial contributor to many charitable organizations.

Mr. Paul is a proud Marine, having risen to the rank of colonel. He started the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps at OU and recently received the OU College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Alumnus Award. Mr. Paul was a Rotarian for 51 years.

Through his life’s work, Mr. Paul distinguished himself in the service of the Chickasaw Nation.
