Kenneth Meeler
1930 - 1984

Kenneth Meeler was born in 1930, and was known for his activism and participation in working for the Chickasaw people. His foresight and the influence of his legacy helped form a guide for the Chickasaw Nation that will impact generations to come.

Kenneth was one of the original 1983 Election Commission members who served his people by helping create the first Chickasaw Constitution.

That Constitution was ratified by qualified voters of the Chickasaw Nation Aug. 27, 1983, by an overwhelming vote of 1,595 to 232. He died in 1984 after accomplishing this feat.
